Ocean Insight (Ocean Optics) light sources accommodate the spectrometers with applications ranging from: UV-VIS-NIR absorbance/transmission/reflectance, irradiance, wavelength calibration, and fluorescence.
Most of the light sources are CW (continuous wave) and fiber coupled for ease of use. The two exceptions are the PX-2 and LED light sources, where the PX-2 is strictly a pulsed source that is triggered and synchronized with the spectrometer integration cycle. The LED light sources can be operated in CW or in pulse mode.
The direct attached sources couple directly to the spectrometer (no fibers) to accommodate standard cuvettes (for liquids only) and to reduce the footprint. These sources are offered if you already have a USB2000, USB4000, or Flame spectrometer for standard cuvette applications.
