Description
The Starna 1-Q series are quartz cuvettes that are usable from 170-2700nm. The most common size (universal for all spectrometers) is the 1-Q-10 with a 10 mm path length. Short path lengths like the 1-Q-1 are often used in biological applications (DNA-Protein ratios) when dilution is not an option. Long path length such as 1-Q-100 are often used in dilute applications such as water analysis where indicators are used. The short path length cuvettes require the SPA5, SPA2, or SPA 1 spacer to fit properly in a standard cuvette holder (10 mm).
These cells have an exterior height of 45mm, two clear windows and an open top. The walls of the cell and the bottom are smooth on the inside. On the outside, the light path windows are clear while the adjacent windows and the bottom are frosted or grey. Typically, windows are 1.25mm thick and each cell in this range is supplied with a PTFE cover.
