White Bear Photonics is a distributor for FTIR sampling accessories, where we can offer a wide range of FTIR sampling accessories depending on the application. While used (pre-tested) accessories are often cost effective, they can be limited to what is available (in inventory). We offer a wide range of new sampling accessories for solids (ATR, film, or reflectance...), liquids (liquid cells, flow cells, ATR...), and gases (10cm to 10m gas cells). We list our accessories as complete systems for Thermo Nicolet FTIRs, so there is minimal time spent on the configuration. For example a new diamond ATR would include the base plate, transfer optics, diamond plate and clamp, so there is minimal assembly. We also offer technical support for the installation, since alignment may be necessary (i.e., instruments are not identical) for optimal performance.
We have a small applications lab with Thermo Nicolet FTIRs, and can offer feasibility experiments based on the accessories we have in-house. We often recommend using off-the-shelf solutions, both for its value and simplicity. However there can be situations where an FTIR is needed to analyze materials external to the instrument. This can require additional engineering or know-how to effectively couple the signal (light) to the detector.
