iD7 Compatible Replacement Crystal Puck

New replacement ATR crystal pucks compatible with Thermo Scientific iD7 and iTX ATR ATR accessories.

Germanium (Ge)
Range 5000 – 650 cm¹
Compare to Thermo P/N 869-169100

Replacement germanium ATR crystal puck similar to Thermo part 869-169100. Germanium’s high refractive index produces a shallower ATR penetration depth than diamond, making it particularly useful for highly absorbing samples, carbon-filled materials, coatings, thin surface layers, and depth-profiling applications. A typical refractive index of 4.0 provides an approximate penetration depth of 0.7 µm, helping reduce spectral saturation in challenging samples.

High Throughput Diamond (AR coated)
Range 7,800 – 400 cm¹
Compare to Thermo P/N 869-168800

Replacement diamond ATR crystal puck similar to Thermo part 869-168800. The diamond crystal provides a durable, general-purpose sampling surface for routine FTIR analysis of solids, powders, pastes, gels, and liquids. Its excellent chemical resistance, scratch resistance, and ability to withstand high point loads make it ideal for demanding laboratories and frequent sample analysis. Diamond also provides broad spectral coverage and a typical ATR penetration depth of approximately 2.0 µm.  For most applications this is the recommended diamond puck since the anti reflective coating boosts energy throughput.

iD7 Compatible Replacement Crystal Puck – Extended Range Diamond (uncoated)
Range 7,800 – 350 cm¹
Compare to Thermo P/N 869-168900

Replacement diamond ATR crystal puck is compatible similar to Thermo part 869-168900.  The extended range diamond is uncoated which slightly boosts range at the expense of throughput.  This is only recommended is you need to make measurements below 400 cm¹.

iD7 Compatible Replacement Crystal Puck – ZnSe
Range 7,800 – 350 cm¹
Compare to Thermo P/N 869-169000

Replacement zinc selenide (ZnSe) ATR crystal plate similar to Thermo part 869-169000. This cost-effective crystal is designed for routine FTIR analysis of liquids, gels, pastes, and soft solids. It provides good mid-infrared performance and is an economical alternative to diamond when abrasive, hard, highly absorbing, or chemically aggressive samples are not being analyzed.   These crystals are more prone to damage and cracking.  In most situations diamond AR coated is a better choice for lab work.
